Hand knotting is a centuries old tradition from the land of ancient Persia. The traditions and craftsmanship of nomadic shepherds have brought hand knotting to the high levels of refinement that can be found in rugs today. Each strand of woolen, cotton or silken yarn is hand threaded and tied one at a time through a cotton or wool weft.

The blend of natural and human elements found in Persian carpets has been a foundation of the Original Trade Goods philosophy. Cynthia’s love of fiber arts and Eric’s background shepherding hand-spinning fleeces is reflected in their ability to share the magic that Persian rugs offer.
